1 year post tx

by pearse, Aug 22, 2004 12:00AM
Hi all, Some of you might remember me. I found out I had hcv in 2002. I had to go on a list to start tx, I waited 3 months. I will always hate SP for that! I started aug of 02, I did 52 weeks peg-intron and riba, 1200 mg and .05 I had a load of 10 mil, a 1a and had this about 25 years. I cleared at 24 weeks and again at 52. I just got the results of my one year post test,( yes a month early) I am cured!!!!!!! UNDETECTABLE!!!!!!
This was a long road! One of the hardest things I have done. I think I had most of the sides you could have, but thanks to this board and some kind people I made it to the end. My whole outlook on life has changed, I can't put it in words but I think you understand what I mean. Today I feel great. I am going to the gym everyday (gained 30 pds on tx) :( Yea I know, everyone loses, me, I gain. I don't drink anymore or ever will. Thats my thing, you can do what ever you want. I will not worry about tomorrow's anymore, I will live just for today! So, I hope you all had a side free weekend, take care and keep your eye on the goal.

Indy, A pat on your back and a smile on my face! Thanks for being here.

I remember you of course, and so will many others. They will be a long soon to tell you how happy they are for you, how much you mean to them and how grateful they are for one more piece of good news.

Congratulations is just too pale of a word to relay how we all feel sharing your news, nonetheless, it gets the point across.

I send warmest regards to accompany you on your new and improved journey...

Hey, Pearse,
That's the best news!  Undetectable at one year is CURED!
It's the last piece of the puzzle.  It's such a long list of benchmarks to pass: at 12 & 24 weeks of tx, end of tx; (3,) 6, 12 months post TX!  The waiting is excruciating.  I've passed that 6-months post, and it ain't over til I sing!  Congratulations.
Maj Neni

(Unfortunately, my swelte figure at the end of tx has been rapidly disappearing, and so now I'm trying another life-changing experience, to become a healthier, leaner person... of course much of the weight I lost during tx was muscle...)

Congratulations!!!!  You made it!!!!!!!!!!  SVR!!!!!!!!!!!
CURED !!!!!!!!!!!!

I will be having my 1 year post tx test in a few months and hope to have the same great news as you.

I completely understand your comment about your outlook on life.  Isn't it wonderful how something good (new outlook on life)can come out of something bad (having had hepatitis)?

Fantastic!!!!  Great news!  You and I did tx together and I go for my one year on Sept 19, having been clear at 6 months.  I hope to post the same news in about a month.  BTW, I've gained back all the weight I lost on tx, too, but am trying mightily to hold it there.

by cuteus, Aug 22, 2004 12:00AM

WOO-HOO!!! THE WHOLE COW HERD IS GOIN DOWN TONITE BABY!! THAT IS THE BEST NEWS I'VE HAD ALL WEEK!! CONGRATULATIONS!!
What a ride eh?? If you ever find a way to really describe the whole thing to somebody let me know. I haven't been able to really do that yet.
I am glad that I was able to help you in some small way. It was really ALL YOU though. I just encourage and try to keep things in perspective. YOU are the one who did this. YOU are the one who deserves all the credit. Your Tx was rough...but you made it through....and NOW look at what you've gained. Yes, you saved your own life....but you also have gained a whole new respect for it. Isn't that GREAT?? And you have helped all who watched you go through this....as well as those you will meet in the future. Your newfound attitude will be contagious. As you are happy so all the others around you will be also. Everyone will start to smile when they first see you every day just because your attitude will be so uplifting. Life will just keep gettin better and better now. I know mine does.
We will never really know how many people we have helped in so many ways just by going through tx and sharing the experience with others here and in our life, or how many we help just by living now with our positive attitude and genuine love of living....but I bet it's a BIG buncha numbers.
Thanks for comming back and posting this GREAT news! Don't be a stranger now. Hang around and post some jokes and stuff. You have my address. I ALWAYS love a good joke.
Take good care.........
