$10 million prize and what it means to HCV

The X Prize Foundation has offered a $10 million prize to the first person or group to decode 100 human genomes within 10 days. Ever since last years' annoucement that a sequence of 18 genes can predict whether or not a person will SVR with current PEG/riba tx, I've wondered what use this info could be if gene sequencing ever became common/affordable.
The obvious benefit would be to tell which patients would be treating only for histological benefit and could skip the ribavirin and which patients might want to treat longer/stronger if regular protocols failed them. Another, more speculative idea would be the developement of new IFNs that would work on people whose DNA prevented them from SVR with current drugs. Or developement of a 'gene therapy' that would work with the regular PEG/riba.
Has anyone else heard anything about this or given it any thought?
