1st shot yesterday

by jonney4141, Mar 07, 2009 03:00PM
Hi all took first shot yesterday, did it myself, it did not hurt. I had a bout of diareha later in the afternoon, and had slight chills and body aches. i slept for about 12 hours. so far i feel fine. i am geno 1 and they said they will know in 3 months whether it is working or not. i was so afraid of the side effects, but so far so good (is this a good sign?) they also prescribed vicodin for pain if i need it, and i already take zoloft................

Sweet! Not everyone gets sick through the first injection; congratulations for getting the ball rolling. Now just try to relax, and cruise through the rest of the treatment. If you feel tired eventually, good chance it’s the drugs taking their toll; but enjoy the good days while they are here.

Good luck with the rest of the treatment—

Hey Johnny, G3 here, so only doing 24 weeks. I'm at 14 weeks so far and even though every day felt like I had at least some sort of side effect, most days I could ignore them and go about my life as usual. Most days I actually felt hyper and very productive, with maybe a small headache or body ache. Stay positive, take the AD's if you need them, really.
Also, I took a fat burner to help out with energy (I recommend LIPO 6; just one pill in the morning) and fish oil to help with mood, sleep, concentration, skin, etc.

Don't ignore the rest of your life while on treatment - in fact, stay busy and do things that you enjoy, as much as possible.

Great news, glad to hear you started and you're doing alright.  You really should push for a 4wk blood test so that you will know how you are doing earlier.  good luck with the rest of your journey
