Hate to waste a thread for this, but I am extremely baffled. Took 2nd shot last night and sides.....a big fat 0!! Nothing! Hell, I may even feel better than before I started treatment. Thought maybe I was given placebo (in all of my paranoidParanoid personality disorder Paranoid schizophrenia Schizophrenia - paranoid type glory). Just thought this might help you guys with the 2nd shot coming up.
Okie Dokie,
This is good news. I didn't feel anything on my 1st shot last week until Saturday night. Jesus please make this so for the rest of us getting ready for tomorrow night. It's wonderful to hear someone having a better time at it. It does give some relief. Moonbaby you rock I will pray that it stays this way for you.
I'm taking my 6th shot tonight. My sides have been minimal. At shot 5 I started to feel very tired and have had to cutCuts and puncture wounds back my activities such as Mt biking. I'm taking PegasysPegasys, 1400 mg of copegusCopegus and 150 mg of effexorEffexor Effexor xr. I do have aches and pains but I have had fatigue and the pains for several years as I have had hvc since 1968. I'm 1-b. Looking forward to 12 week test. I really think we have to stay positive which is not always easy for me. I think the dragon wants us to get negative and give up but I AM DETERMINED TO KICK IT'S ASS!!!!!!!!! If your sides are not bad consider yourselves the lucky ones. Some of our brothers and sisters really suffer and my heart goes out to them.

Myrtles,
I have been ok myself. I tried to finish the roof of my garage just ran out of steam yesterday. I will get it done this weekend I hope. The last big job will be getting hay for the horses. Once that is done, bring it on I am ready for the fight. I will not be alone in this battle and neither will you. I'm sorry to hear you have had some ruff days. I wish I could send more help your way. My prayers are there and I hope you know this. I will be thinking of you tomorrow night. Hang in there. I can't wait to see tomorrow's fight song those really get me ready for the shot. With all his love and mine JIM
You will be in my prayers too!! I know what you mean about running out of steam. I am waiting to take my 2nd shot until Saturday. My husband and I are in Prison Ministry and are going to be at a prison all day on Sat and I thought it might be best to wait until Saturday night. But you will be in my prayers tomorrow night!
With God's help we will make it through!! Amen??? Amen!!!
You are a nut! Doing all that heavy duty chores while just starting tx! Take CARE of yourself now, dont go out riding a tractor choppin down hay without having someone checkin on you, I would hate to have you pass out and lay there in trouble. I am maybe being paranoid, but this stuff can sneak up and kick your bootie. It can cause some large drops in blood counts at the start so dont do too much, or at least listen to your body, if you feel lightheaded, dizzy, short of breath, take a break, sit down, drink water!! Ok, thats my lecture for the day. :)

Your so sweet. I have read your thoughts and wishes and I love what you say. I know what you are telling me. My wife is saying the same thing. I have worked hard all my life. I know my body. I will be watching myself. These are the last two big jobs I had to get done before TX but didn't make it, my GI had to start me due to the cirrosis. By the way I'm just a geno 2B, on pegasys/copegus for 24 weeks, viral load was 1+Mil at start of TX. I hope you continue to do well with your TX and my prayers include everyone on this board.
Ill side effects from the treatment medicines, come and go for me. They haven't been too unbearable yet (21st week) but I have had a few days where I absolutely couldn't leave my house, couldn't do much and didn't feel well at all.
Don't worry too much about sides not being there. I've learned that when you think they aren't there, something sneaks up behind you and reminds you that you are on this strong treatment medicine.
Don't push yourself too much when you feel good. Enjoy the good times and the good days, when you have them.
Hey, there are probably more people with minimal or few sides than there are those with sides, so consider yourself lucky, but watch out for the RBC and WBC and etc. They do, I think; in more than a majority of people, decrease while on tx.
Hey Okie, I'm geno type 2b with stage 3 fibrosis, and I'm on Pegasys-Copegus and my GI wants to treat me for 48 weeks instead of 24 which is normal for geno 2b's. He said it is "VERY" important to go after this very agressively the first time around and to make sure you hit it with all you can the first time. My GI also says the longer you stay on the Pegasys (interferon), it will actually help your liver and could actually reverse some of the damage. It is really up to the patient on how he or she is coping with the tx at the 24 week point, if your cleared at 24 weeks and the sides aren't that bad, he REALLY suggests going another 24 weeks. I also heard this is becoming almost standard practice now with geno types 2's and 3's especially if your liver is in the fibrosis or cirrhosis stage. When he first mentioned this to me, my first reaction was this Dude is nuts, I won't go a day past 24 weeks if I'm cleared. Well after reading all these posts on here for the past 12 weeks, I made up my mind if I'm feeling pretty good at 24 weeks and have cleared the virus, I will definetely go for another 24. I'm just telling you all of this so you might want to discuss this with your GI and for you to give it some "REAL" deep thought- if you think about it, it really makes alot of sense. I know your mind was set on 24 just like mine was, but you have to think about this one hard. Good luck to you OkieJim and talk to your doc about this before you make any decesions. See Ya-- HD
Hey thanks,
Your the first I have heard from with this advise. I have seen some articles about Interferon helping the healing process of the liver. I have also read that once you reach cirrosis there's no corrective action for it. There is however for fibrosis. I will definitly have a talk with my GI or PA next week for my first check-up. Thanks for the advise this is what I like about this board. I hope all is going well with you. We can all beat this thing.
Great,
For me I think it takes affect the second night at least that is what happened on the first shot. Saturday night I had flu symptoms. I'm so sorry I forgot you did yoors last night said a quick prayer for you when I saw this post this morning. Keep us posted on how you are doing we all are hoping for the best as you know.
Good for you. I didn't have one side effect for almost the first 2 months. In fact like you said I actually felt great. I kept waiting for them. Eventually I got them but never as bad as I read for most people. Even when I do get side they don't last too long, from a day or two to maybe a week. Like I read here you can get all the sides some of the time but you usually don't have them all at the same time. I hope you end up one of the lucky ones. Drink as much as possible and excercize even a little if you can. Glad to hear you doing well. LL
I didn't feel like **** until my 4th shot, then felt better for the next, then crappy and so on. It also seemed to conicide with my period as well. My hubby claims he could perdict the crappyness with my cycle??? He was smart and NEVER mentioned it until tx was over. LOL I think my worst sides were from rebetol. The dry cough, dry skin, dry hair & loss, etc. ect. NEVER think that because you read about BAD sides that you are doomed to the same sides. You may be the one that sails through it. Keep a positive mind set, talk to God & decide what sides you may have are worth the rest of your life and KICK the DRAGONS ASS!
God Bless

My doc did make a point of telling me not to gloat if I have no sides because of what just may happen.
Not trying to lecture you but just wisper about it and count your blessing.
Stay strong no matter what and You will win.
