4wk und with incivek but my blood tests are bad

i was a null responder to my peg/rib treatment last year.  I have responded to triple therapy with und at 4 and 12 wks  my blood is messed up  low white count  low red count   tsh is high.   i am on procrit for the red blood count.   I know i will have to continue treatment for the duration of 48 weeks.

?   is the treatment doing more harm to me  ( my blood counts and thyroid, etc....)  ?

It sounds like you're having great results though, UND at 4 weeks and 12 weeks.  Hang in there.  How often are you in for labs?

I have the same problem, I think most do. My white cells are at 2.4 red cells at 2.83 and my thyroid is whacky too and am now taking pills for it. Just make sure to get bloodwork often hopefully your Dr will do that every week. Hang in there.

Congrats on the excellent result this time. Low reds and white cells  as well as a thyroid abnormality  is often the side effects experienced doing tx.
How low is your HGB.? Sounds like you doctor is on top of that with Procrit.
How low are your whites ,(in particular your ANC)  and have they spoken with you about the rescue drug neupogen for this?
The thyroid often  gets out of whack ,however can be very easily remedied with the drug synthroid ,if needed.Best to have this tested regularly

Sounds like you are having normal side effects and unless the levels get dangerously low that  can not be maintained by supplemental drugs ,,you should be fine.

Hopefully your doctor is keeping a close eye on all the levels..

Good luck
