6 Mos Post Treatment - Good News!

Got my 6 mos post tx labs back yesterday and...UNDETECTABLE!!!
Hepatic Panel = Normal
AST = 20
ALT = 11
HCV RNA, Quant, TMA = UNDETECTABLE (<5 IU/mL, <0.70 LogIU/mL)

I'm a 1A (hopefully former) 41 years old, who started tx with baseline vl of 264,000, ALT 91, level 2/3 fibrosis.  Did 48/48 Pegasys/Copeg and undetectable 4 weeks into tx. Had HCV for 20+ years.  Diagnosed in 1989 and did all the "healthy liver" stuff until 2000 when I tried Intron A/Rebatrol and had to quit after 7 weeks.  This time, I think I had every side effect you could have during tx.  Worked with my GI to manage them - determined to get through it all.  Still have some body aches, anxiety and fatigue, but way less than on tx.    

Found this forum early 2003.  Thank you all for your encouragement and support before, during and after tx.  I could not have done this without you!!!!!

BIG CELEBRATIONS....LOL...ABSOLUTELY!  Funny, hubby and I are planning a trip to the Caribean in the spring.  Probably the BVIs.  First big trip we will have been on since I started tx.  I want warm beaches and my toes in the sand.  A lobster a day would be JUST FINE with me!!!!

CONGRATULATIONS !!!!!! Another 1A has done kicked the dragon down. He won't be able to stand and fight any more if this keeps up.

that is funny...i didn't know. ha! great minds think alike!!! i went to the virgin islands right after i found out i had hepc but before i started tx...sort of as a "last trip" while still feeling well...

we went to st johns cinnamon bay campground...beach and woods, sooooo nice!!! the snorkleing was like being in heaven...we also went to a bvi, "virgin gorda" ohhhhhhhh ahhhhhhhhh mannnnnn wowwwww! giant bolders in the ocean with swarms of colorful fish in the reef...can snorkle and swim between them...soooo cool...and i didn't need to be in that great of shape for the snorkling...it was so peaceful...and theraputic...

have a ton of fun for me too!!! (((love the tropics))) and the Lobster and filet mignon at every meal, SUPER CONGRATS!

Hey Shot Buddy.... I didn't realize that your son had already got married...... I remember when he proposed, & how excited you were.... My how time flies!!!!!

Coming up on that 6 month PCR huh.... Finally, Whew... I know you'll be glad, & I can't wait to hear your results.... I just KNOW that they are going to be GREAT!!!!!  All this hurry up & wait & wondering... & general "Not Knowing" really was about the most un-nerving part about TX to me.... I HATE That!!

The difference between last round & this one, is like the difference between night & day (thus far)... I am not naive enough to expect it to be like this all along... However, I have gone so far as to actually make reservations for my Alaskan trip (which is something I NEVER would have done before).... So I am BOOKED..... Finally after over a year of trying to get there.... Hope my health holds up, & I am still feeling good by then... I lucked out with the price, & got "NoN-Stop" flights both ways.... so airtime will not be so bad... 7 to 7 & 1/2 hours. So at least I don't have to change planes, & waist an additional 4 & 5 hours..... That 10 & 11 hour trip is what deterred me from doing it last year!!! I leave on June 2nd..... stay 19 days... even get to spend my B'day there... Whew Hoo.... I'm kind of excited!!!!

I hope you get your results before I leave, However....I'll still check in though... So Hang in there gal...
