That's what happened to me. Did you take Tylenol? It does help, truly. And then see if you can sleep it off.

Hang in there!!

Last night was my 3rd shot. My first shot I felt like a peterbuilt ran smack dab over me. Fever was high, body was beyond aching, joints creaked and moaned.. The good news is and I hope its the same for you, the second shot was so mild I thought I didnt get all the meds. I was panicing! calling my doc, posting on here.. Just wasnt what I expected to wake up to.. this week is a bit tougher than last but still not as bad as the first. My doc told me to take Ibuprofen instead of Tylenol. I dont know why but Im listening. Oh and the riba after so long gave me some stomach acid like no other. I reccomend getting some Prilosec OTC and keep it on hand. But I do take 7 ribas a day along with an AD, the Ibuprofen and an occasional xanax. I feel like a dope head lately. Shooting up, popping pills.. lol
Hang in there and sleep as much as you can. THATS why I like the xanax!

Good luck and keep your head up..

First one hit me like that, too. Benadryl will help you sleep through it.  The next one shouldn't be nearly so bad, and do take Tylenol or Motrin with or before your shot.

Good Job...Now remember to take the pills with some food to offset any sides from nausea .....BTW are you able to take Ibuprofen on tx..Here in the Uk we are discouraged because of platelets and clotting issues, something that happens to most of us on tx..?.....PXXXX

Is your doc a liver specialist (hepatologist) or a gastro? Most hepatologists tell their patients to stay away from ibuprofen and other NSAID's because of their antiplatelet effect. Because of that most recommend Tylenol.

Good to hear you have started, my first shot on both treatments was worst due to flu like symptoms second shot I had no such.

I used to take tylenol one hour before shot made it a lot easier due to sx.

And you right about  that many people will ,gonna, wanna be there for you through this long year.

Good Gods blessings !!

I'm sitting here after reading this laughing with empathy.  Yes, like a mack truck!  With my first shot I layed in bed, sweated until the bed was soaked, shook until I thought my teeth were going to rattle out of my face, felt like I'd been beaten with a ball bat, like the worst flu I'd ever had tripled and more.  It does get better but there will be a lot of dealing with symptoms.  I HATE pills now and hope I never have to take one again after treatment ends.  It is one of those treatments that makes you think living with the disease would be better than taking the treatment but don't let that idea win out because it can be deadly.  Keep with the treatment.  I'm feeling ya.  We all are.

He is a gastro. I know its only been 3 shots now but my platlets and red and white counts are normal. Got the results yesterday. Besides Im not taking that much of it. I ALWAYS hated pain meds because I have this stupid idea in my head if I cover up the pain and something is horribly wrong I wont know it. When he said Ibuprofen I said "are you sure?" not tylenol? He said Ibuprofen.. if he makes me not reach SVR Im going postal on him.

that's why I always took my shot on Friday night - if you can time it so that the worst of the sides come while you are asleep (and take an Ambien if you need it) it helps. I ALWAYS took two tylenol with the shot and very very rarely had ANY reaction to it - not until about week 30 did I get any fever. I truly believe taking the tylenol prophalactically did the trick.
