EOT appointment today. 24 weeks of GS9485, GS5855, Pegasys and Ribavirin and then 24 of just Peg and Riba. VERY hard, very hard. UND since Week 6, which was a a bit slow. Now the waiting begins.

Anyway in my discussion with my treating MD, the topic of 7977 came up. It now has a name apparently and is in Phase 3. However, my hepa tells me that 7977 will have to be used with an NS5A inhibitor to be super effective. Gilead refuses to use an out of company NS5A inhibitor which is causing delay with 7977 as Gilead waits for trials with GS5855 to clear. It will then combine 7977 with 5855 into a single pill. My hepa also said 7977 is not nearly so effective for relapsers and others who have already treated. Boo. I was hanging onto 7977 as insurance in case I relapse. I don't wanna relapse :-)

I don't understand all the abbreviation stuff. Is 7977 the new incivek? And what is HGB, it reminds me of that date rape drug. Is that your hemoglobin? I am sorry I sound stupid I am new to the forum.

Yep, I had the 12 week pegasys, ribavirin and 7977, tested UND at 14 wks.  Seems like a much easier route than the 48 week Peg/riba.  I don't beleve I had any SX that were related to the 7977, just the normal stuff for Peg and riba.

I am so sorry to got Bad News. :(

I am 6 weeks out of the End of Tx with the GS7997 W/ Riba/Inf. My Trial was a blinded Study,I will not know until they are ready to release my Results if I'm UND. It was a very Mild Sx treatment for me.Some anemia and brain fog but it was very doable. The one Hector is in is w/o the Interferon, the newest one out now.He will be along soon or as OP above gave you the link on this forum that we all have been talking about this Tx.As you will see FLag8tor just got his results back as UND and Hector has been UND too.

Good Luck to you!

Sorry you didn't succeed but you are indeed fortunate to have the ability to use these wonderful new meds. For those not in a trial, who fail tx, all they can do is wait.

I suggest you look at this link of many members who have done or are now doing 7977.

There is lots of info on here related to 7977. You can enter it in your search box if no one responds. The good thing is it ought not to yield old useless results since the med is relatively new.

I just wanted to say sorry the trial did not work out and you did not clear

☞ Kudos to you for selecting a trial that allows you to try the drug that does work if the initial protocol does not. 7977 is supposed to be revolutionary☚

Best of luck
