8 weeks post - Tx report and, of course, open thread

Hello from wet and gray Michigan,

Just passed the 8 week point from the end of Tx and I'm glad to report that the disappearance of side effects has been steady and very relieving. The only lingering sides are some minor skin problems. Everything said here about how most of us improve markedly in the first 2-4 weeks after Tx surely played out for me. The first month's improvement was the most measurable and around week three there were a few days in a row when I was driving to work and felt a pervasive sense of physical, mental and emotional well-being. Hadn't felt like that in a year! There is life after Tx! Hope this tidbit brightens the light at the end of the tunnel for those who are having a rough time with Tx/sides.

Good news in your post tx recovery.  I am glad to hear that you are getting back to normal.  What kind of skin issues are you having?  It is funny that the skin takes such a big hit from tx, but it seems to.

I am almost 3 weeks post.  Things are looking better for me too.  I pulled weeds (after a night of rain) out of flower beds for 3 hours on Sunday (had several months of weeds and grass to remove) - and that was the longest I could work in the yard since before tx.  --means the old hgb is on the rise!  I seem to have very thin skin now.  Bruise easily and still not healing from cuts and scratches fast enough.

GOD did you ever think you'd start feeling better? Especially around tax season?   ;p

I'm now almost three months post tx. I do feel very good. I joined a gym, I work out three times a week. I really have a lot of energy, and I have a general feeling of optimism about my life.

One nice thing about my treatment, when it finally did end, after 48 weeks, when it was finally done, it was such a relief to have it over with. Now that I'm post treatment, I can't remember when I ever felt so well before in my whole life.

Treatment may have given me an insight into what my old age may one day feel like. Now, almost three months post treatment, I feel like a kid again, doing what I did again, when the red red robin comes bob bob bobbing along.... You get the point.

everybody's weed is somebody's flower. There were some things - I don't know what they were  -that grew to about 4' tall and I finally pulled them all out.  Next day, I had a rash all over my right "pulling" arm.  All I can figure is that the mystery plants got me good!

ny -- bring on the "weed" jokes -- let 'em fly (high).

beamish - I bet your yard is awesome!

During tx I could work out in the yard for maybe 1/2 hour before I was ready to pass out. Then I had to go rest for an hour or two.  It still takes me the same amount of time to walk 2 miles as it used to take to do 3 miles -- so I have a ways to go.
