Hi, I am a disabled vet from ky and i was talking to the D.A.V. and he suggested that i find as many people i can with the same problem as me... first of all i went through the treatment (Pegintron, Riba) a few yrs ago. was on it for 1.5 yrs. and since then i still feel like I am on it..i started having seizers and got diag. with epilepsy.. what do you know i read the prescriber info for PEG and that’s one of the effects... any ways none of the dr. think there are any effects after tx. WHAT????? the manufacture for the meds say this in the report... the dr. are to F****** dumb to read in to this.. or it doesn’t mater cuz they get there pay check if they do or don’t, so they don’t... If we get all together i Will go to the V.A. Med board and explain our case, they said if i can get enough people Names, Address, numbers, Exc. o.k. I understand if you don’t want personal info. I guess I can try to giv the med board screen names and when they want to talk to you I guess I can post there number so you all can call them... I like many of you are suffering and I would like the dr.'s to stop thinking I am faking when im not! Now is our chance heard
that they will start documenting all the post tx effects in the medical world so all the dr.'s in the world will see this is real and not made up, every ones help will be greatly appreciated, Thanks and God bless

this is a serious issue, some of us have treated and it took time to recover, i'm almost 6mo post 48 weeks of Pegasys/ RIbavirin and still not fully feeling like myself.  i was also informed that treatment with Interferon has the potential for bringing out predisposed diseases like diabetes or thyroid problems.

i'm going to trust this thread to the wise ones we have here, so bumping it up!

thanks, i am going to fight this issue until i am heard i will do it by my self. but it will be a lot nicer if i could get some help.

I treated for 72 weeks and it did take me quite a while to recover from it.  I don't know that I will ever be feeling like I was before - but I did save my liver from being completely destroyed and so I won't die of liver disease most likely now.

A tradeoff but for those who are later staged a necessary one since there is no other cure.

I'm not exactly sure what you are trying to achieve by getting a list of names together though.  As nasty as interferon is - it is a miracle drug on the other hand that does save lives.

A class action type lawsuit would be difficult to manage because there are warnings on all of the meds of what might happen.  Just like the fact that you can have reactions to antibiotics that can kill you - which are harmless enough to most people  but turn lethal to others.

i think doctors really need to step it up and tell people seriously about the side effects ... i think alot of dr's do not do this and just gloss it over and just write a scrip i have a friend who is starting tx and she was told ABSOLUTELY NOTHING by her doctor about all the sides... of couse she didnt ask much either, alot of people are intimated by talking to doctors i guess... F THAT i asked all kinds of questions i like to know everything bout the drugs i take haha

im not looking for  A class action type lawsuit... im trying to get the long term side effects documented medically
