A Checkered Past

I have had a rather checkered past with my liver. I am a 50 year old woman who
had a bout of Hepatitis (I presume A) when in High School. In 1969 I had a baby
and hemmorghed badly requiring a blood transfusion. I had another blood transfusion
after minor surgery in 1986. In 1988 I was hospitalized with pancreatitis and hep B.
This was caused by a blocked bile duct and after surgery I was supposedly "cured".
However since then my liver has been tender and swollen constantly sometimes
causing pain. I was told I had liver cancer Metastsized from somewhere else. After
this lovely scare I was told that it wasn't cancer but that I had several angiomas on the
liver and it was nothing to worry about. Now, I have had a lot of medical bills between my
husbands heart problems, arthritis, etc and we have no health insurance. Lately my liver
has become very hard and bumpy feeling. I swell up in the abdomen area and look like I
am very pregnant. I have gas and then it goes down again. My legs and feet swell up so
bad it is hard to walk and I suffer from pain in the liver after meals. Should I be concerned about
cirrohsis. I was told by one doctor I had Hep C and then by another that I did not. This has
all been very emotionally draining and confusing. Can you help me?
