A day with interferon....

by TnHepGuy_, Jul 04, 2007 12:00AM
I awoke this morning from a peaceful overnight rest, stretched in bed and rubbed the sleep from my eyes. Thinking that I wasn't quite fully awake yet, though, I knew what I had to do: slip out of bed, make my way to the bathroom, open the medicine cabinet, reach in and pull out the quart bottle of that magic elixir and splash some all over my face! Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!

Next, it's off to the kitchen to pour a bowl of my favorite cereal and fire up that first pot of coffee. Perhaps slice a banana over the shredded wheat ..... Mmmmmmmmmmmm. But wait - some thing's missing?!?! Not to worry, just open the refrigerator door, pull out my half-gallon bottle of elixir and flood the cereal and coffee to overflowing! Delicious!!!

Time for a shower. A look into the mirror saddens me, though. Could my hairline, by chance, be receding a bit?!?!? Oh, my!!! But, no need to fear - just liberally apply said elixir to one's skull (being sure to avoid the palms and other non-suitable areas) and soon I shall be the male Rapunzel once more!!!

Off to work now! Going to be a hot one today, too. Can't forget to bring along my sandwich, apple and - of course - thermos bottle with it's much needed swigs of chilled elixir to boost my energy and maintain my stamina as the brutal sun beats down upon me. Yes, today I shall be the only one in my road-paving crew here in Las Vegas to put in a full 12 hours - and laugh at the thermometer when it reaches 115. Thank you, friend Elixir!!!

Back home now and dinner is served. My wonderful wife has prepared a banquet - a veritable feast! And she has put out our best crystal, too - filling mine to the brim. Glasses are raised and a toast is made: La Dolce Vita! To The Sweet Life! Mmmmmmmmmmmmmm ...... what a joyous bouquet and 'nose' this has tonight, My Dear! Is that chocolate, raspberries and a hint of oak, perhaps? Ah, Sweet Elixir!!!

Now, the kids are finally asleep. Soon it will be time to turn in, jump under the covers and cozy up to the wife. Age, though, can ravage a man - most especially, it would seem, when he gets .... er, ah.... 'called upon'. So, off to the medicine cabinet once more - this time for the 'little blue pill'. OH, NO! FORGOT CALL IN THE REFILL!!! My poor wife will be sooooooooooooooooo disappointed. What to do?!?!?  Yes! ....... there it is! ....... right where I left it this morning: the quart bottle of magic elixir! Our marital savior!!!

My day has been full and is now complete. Thank you Roche. Thank you Schering-Plough. Soundly will I sleep, knowing that your creation of this miraculous wonder shall never cease. Goodnight and be well, my dear friends.
