AFP cancer marker 310 down to 24

Finished treating with Sovaldi/Olysio 2 days ago and I had my 12 week EOT bloodwork done this morning- will have to wait another day for the viral load which I'm sure will come back undetected, but got my other results this afternoon.  My AFP cancer marker was 310 in March and now is down to 24 which is still high but not crazy high (normal is under 10  I think ). My hepatologist thought the high AFP in March might have been due to the Hep C rather than cancer, so while the AFP is still higher than normal, this makes me more optimistic than I've been in awhile. My next MRI to monitor the tumor will be Sept, 3, so from now until then I'm going to enjoy some optimism.

Great news!!! Praying for a good report from the MRI in Sept.  Hang in there, keep of good cheer - it numbers may get better as time passes as it takes time to get al the meds out of one's system.
