Sorry, I just got to reading your post and thought I would start a new one so you would see it - there have been some responses to your post from the 24th of Jan, so please check..
Just wanted to let you know that I'm a 49yr old female with AIH..
Was diagnosed in 2001..I did the prednisone therapy for about 61/2months, but I took higher doses than you..Usual starting dose is 40mg daily, I started at 30mg daily, because I have a lot of trouble taking some medications, so gastro agreed to give the 30mg a shot..After being on my prednisone for about 2months, I then started Imuran at 100mg daily..My levels are all within normal range now..I am currently taking 25mg of Imuran yet, and if everything continues to go well, gastro will try to take me off Imuran come June..
Since being diangosed, with the AIH, I have also been diagnosed with other autoimmune problems..Which with you having other autoimmune problems should know that is common, when being diagnosed with one autoimmune problem your chances of having others are greater..I have had Fibro for about 9yrs which some drs. still differ on weather it is an autoimmune problem or not..I also have Raynold's Syndrome..The drs. are still in the process of trying to figure out if I have Lupus or not..I do have CREST Syndrome for sure..You can also email me at ***@**** if you just want to chat about this..
