AIH and antibiotics

My Mother has had AIH for approximately 5 years. She also suffers with mild diabetes. My question is about antibiotics. When taking antibiotics for other conditions my Mother has a noticable improvement in her energy levels and mood. Why is this? and has anybody else experienced the same thing?
