ALT and AST during treatment

by mar148, Feb 12, 2008 06:37PM
I am taking shot 20 of 24 for my treatment of type 3.  My alt and ast when first diagnosed were in the 60 to 90 range and have now come down to ast 18 alt 11.  Does this mean anything other than my liver is getting a good rest on treatment?

The answer is yes and no. With most of us our ALTs return to the normal range during Tx, but yours are well into the normal range. More tlike the healthy levels.
This looks good for SVR but you cant really use your ALT levels for this, but those levels sure look good.

On 1/16/08 my ALT level was 62 and the VL was UND.
On 2/8/08 my ALT spiked up to 82, but don't have the VL data back from the lab - they can't find the results, and I may have to re-do the Heptimax test.
Do you think my VL has spiked up as well?

Thanks

No. Its normal for your ALTs to rise during Tx for some at Least.
Bit of a pain them loosing the results but.
