Hey spring, I had no trouble with insurance and Alinia. BCBS. good luck, jerry
Starting treatment soon. Alinia/SOC; treatment naive; geno 1a. Going through insurance approval process now. I will pre-dose 4 weeks Alinia. Hope insurance comes through on Alinia.
Feel better soon deblee.
hey tranplaned in 2007 non responder started alinia 1week ago must call doctor having yellowing of eyes and back and side pain anyone else hae problems
started Alinia 6 months in, already UND...so will never know if I stay Und if it helped.
couldn't get my doc to go for it from inception..however he finally agreed. Our rational being, however it helped knock back virus quicker might also mean it keeps more of it from becoming resistant. Obviously the chemistry of how or why it works is not yet fully understood...but my rational is if it kills those last few virulent cells that the Riba keeps missin...who cares how it does it...the fact that it gives even a little edge up is whaere the hope lies.
Clippedwings, sorry the Alinia didn't help you.
You must have a reaaly strong 1a.
I was a non-responder. Genotype 1a starting viral load 944,000 with cirrhosis. After 16 weeks I had a viral load of 173,000 so I never even saw a one log drop. Hope you have better luck.
Thanks, I'll gladly add luck to my regimen! Were you a non-responder? breakthru? Genotype? #s jerry
I added Alinia to SOC back in November. Didn't work for me, but then again I added it after I was already 2 months into my first round of PEG/RIBA treatment. Looks like the studies here and the Egyptian study all used a pre-dosing for the Alinia. Good luck to you.
