AST/ALT Lab Question

I recently had a physical and my AST was 58, my ALT was 63. The rest of my labs were normal. I know my liver enzymes are elevated, but wonder if the levels are significant? Not sure if I have reason to worry or consider further tests. The dr's office never got in touch with me about the results, so I just got a copy in the mail.

were you drinking or taking any meds the days before the tests? this will cause the LFT's to raise slightly. if not test again in 3 months, if still elevated test for hepatitis, etc.

I would say abnormal labs are always significant for something. Yours aren't extremely high, but I would pursue finding out why, or retesting to see if they come down. I've always had normal lab values for liver enzymes, but I have hep C.
