AST ALT test scores

I am a 35 year old male 20 to 25 pounds overweight and my AST score was 52 and my ALT score was 90. I had a drink at 4:00 on Friday and the next day at 8:30am I went to the lab at 8:30am the next day to do the test. I did fast from 8:00pm on Friday till 8:00 am 12 hours but I was wondering if the fact I had a couple drinks at 4:00 in afternoon on Friday if this could have affected the score? Also should I be worried? My doctor wanted me to get a ultrasound of my liver and come back in 6 weeks. Please advise. Thank you

Do you have HCV?  If you're not sure, get tested.  only way to find out and treat it if necessary.

I'm not exactly sure what your question was.  If you have HCV then 52 and 90 aren't that high. I'm not sure they're that high if you don't have HCV.

As far as drinking there are people who will tell you that drinking is like pouring gas on a fire and maybe it is. I TX in 2005 and 6 months after TX ended I was positive again. Over the last 7 years I have had drinks. I don't get drunk and I only drink a few times a year. Mostly wine or baileys in my coffee. I had another liver biopsy last year and it was better than the biopsy I had 7 years ago.

So no, I don't think you affected your score much with just a couple drinks, IMHO.
