Abnormally High WBC & Neutrophiles

Hi,
I just had my 19th shot. Last week my platelet was dropped to 71000 from 156000, WBC was at 2590, HGB was at 10.9 and Neurophils at 38%. So I had 2 shots of Neupogen and Mircera 100 (Epogen) as asked by my Dr.
My yesterday's bloodwork came as HGB 11.5, WBC 27830 (Range 4500-11,500) , Neutrophils 88 (Range 50-70) and Platelet at 156000. When asked about the abnormality my Dr. Rx antibiotic for 5days as the reason for both WBC & Neutrophils extremely high is due to an infection. Since a couple of days i am experiencing acute FLU like symptoms due to cold.
Has anyone experience such abnormality on weekly bloodwork. If so should I continue with Neupogen or skip this wk and carry on with the antibiotic.

In my opinion, you don't need the Neup if your WBC is within normal range.  Actually, yours is high.  I wouldn't take the Neup shot this week.  Your whites aren't going to crash in a week's time and unless you had a fairly adequate white cell count to begin with, I don't think it could elevate like that.

I was pulled off of Neup for 2 wks when my WBC hit 12,000 and I was battling bacterial pneumonia and taking Levaquin.

Thanks for the valuable thoughts & experience shared. Not only my WBC but my
Granulocyte is also elevated at 24300 (2000-7500). Yeah I will skip neupo this wk
and see next wk bloodwork. Thanks again
