Accidental over medicated with solvaldi

Been sleeping more than usual due to fatigue.   My dosing schedule is 8 a.m. RIBA 600 mg. an 1 solvaldi in morning an RIBA at 8 p.m. At night. Yesterday, after church fell asleep, when alarm went off ate breakfast an took morning dose. Then realized it was 8 p.m. The same day so I dosed twice with solvaldi within 12 hrs.  Was concerned about overdose so contacted  on call doctor, after 4 attempts finally talked to her an was told don't worry, but to skip solvaldi all day tomorrow but to take both doses of RIBA.  Doesn't sound right to me. Any suggestions?  Almost didn't post, can't believe I did this.  Sure not feeling myself lately. Ugh

My goodness, I was laughing as I was reading about the " commotion " at your house over a pill.!!!  People that are not hep c would absolutely not get it.  I could just picture the super ball pill bouncing an a grown woman/man chasing it frantically.  I sure needed a laugh today an got it.. Thanks

Yup...that $1,000 pill is something that I am very aware of on a daily basis. I hide my pills in my house.

One morning: I dropped my sovaldi on the floor. I have two husky mixes that started to go for it. I screamed for them to back-off (talk about 2 scared puppies...they froze...they were definitely sensing my "I am serious" voice). I made them sit in the corner as I got on my hands in knees frantically looking for this pill...that...no kidding...ricocheted off the refrigerator door to the hallway wall and across the hall into my laundry closet (found the $1,000 super ball pill in the corner of my laundry closet...phew). Lol...my dogs were never so obedient or scared. Poor babies. I take my sovaldi in the afternoon when I am in less of a hurry now (lessons learned). Jo

I did the exact same thing!!!   Did a double dose of Sovaldi after a nap, and was panic stricken.    This happened about 2-3 weeks into treatment.   Called Mayo ( my docs) they said     NO PROBLEM!    Skip your dose tomorrow and you will be just fine.   As it turns out I am know EOT12. UND, so in the end no harm was done.   Please don't worry as it happens to the best of us.
Lesson learned tho!
...Kim
For the record...Thru up Sovaldi also 1X, and watched 1,000.00 dollars go down the toilet!    Now that was painful!

I thought I missed a dose at 6:00 PM one day during treatment but I didn't and took both sovaldi and olysio the next morning at 8:00 AM and again at 6:00 PM the same day and didn't have a problem. Best to call Gilead like nursehepc said because they have all the data relating to the drug and can give you the best advise if resistance is an issue if you were to miss a dose all day. They have someone to talk to 24/7. The number is listed below.

Call 1-855-7-MYPATH (1-855-769-7284) to speak with a Support Path specialist. They are available to assist you along the way.

Hey there, as NurseHepC said, please don't be so hard on your self.  We all make mistakes.  Some on here have missed a dose, some have take double like you.  At least it was 12 hours apart.  I would do as doctor suggested.
You will do fine.
Take care

First, don't be so hard on yourself. This is not a big deal (Sovaldi is a level drug that is taken daily).
Second, your Dr. is whose advice you should follow, but you could call Gilead for peace of mind. They may give you a schedule that gets you back to your daily 8 am dose (or 8 pm) that makes you feel more comfortable. In general, talking to the folks who manufacture the drug and know it best, and getting their advice, will likely make you feel better.
To err, is human. You will be okay.

Good Luck. Jo
