Alinia generic vs brand

Just got my off label Alinia rx (geno 4). Since insurance will not cover off label use I will have to pay for it.
Does anyone know if there is any difference between generic (canada online pharm) and brand name ?
Price is certainly very different.
Is all Nitazoxanide alike ?

hang in there. Just got my prescription for brand Alinia apparently the insurance
will cover it .Will see if they pay all the refills.
Anyway I am starting mono Alinia for a while than VL than in all likelyhood
added SOC. It is my first time and hopefully the last. Will see what`s in it
for a naive geno 4.

Can you describe your feeling bad ? Is it physical pain or depression ?

yes, i have had my vl done, 800,000.  i go to the dr on nov 18, guess he will do blood work w/ another vl, since it has been pretty close to a month been on peg & riba plus alinia. he said he will do this just to see how my response is going to be, but the 12 weeks is the tell all. haven't been on here in a while been feeling really BAD. I didn't feel this bad on it the other times i did it. so, maybe a good thing?

did you do a a baseline viral load before you started Nitazoxanide and will you
do one before adding SOC ?

The reason I am asking there seem to be a number of people who like you
started lead in phase with Alinia and saw their VL go up.
I am considering doing Alinia mono for a while (geno 4) but I obviously
would hate to see my current low VL go up because of Alinia.

I asked Romark about this and they say they are not aware that Alinia would raise
VL.

yes, i have ordered it from progressive rx.com and presently taking it along with my treatment. seem to have same sides as the real alinia, bright yellow urine and loose stools. my dr doesn't seem worried that i purchased it from there. also, it is made from same place, lupin pharm.  go to dr in 2 weeks, just started treatment wed night, will know something then, i also have taken it for 1 1/2 months prior to treatment due to denial from ins co for peg/riba. but now all is ok. i first took brand name samples for 1 month but now on the generic.

HR once said he was comfortable with the Mexican co that made it. A German co I think. I looked at the Indian knock-off. I would have used it if my insurance refused me. They did not so it became moot. good luck, jerry

Ever heard of progressive rx pharm. ?
How do you find out if online pharm is reputable?
At some point it looked like I was not going to get Nitazoxanide rx so I ordered
some from India called Nizonide by Lupin Pharm. without script as fall back. Got it sitting in my closet now and showed it to my doc who agreed it looked authentic.
After doing some string pulling I now have a script. Have not taken it so far.
Since it is very expensive for long term use I am wondering if I can go generic.
What is a reputable canadian online pharm. ?

Anybody out there with Nitazoxanide experience ?

I should add that I’d have no qualms whatsoever purchasing Rx products from a reputable Canadian pharmacy. However, I’d need some reassurance that the product is actually from a bona fide Canadian outfit if I was buying online; too many backyard products from developing nations work their way into online sales.

My understanding is that all drugs purchased under the FDA watch have to provide a statement of bioequivalency to their brand name counterpart. If that same product is purchased online, all bets are off, I think.
