Are there any lawyers here that can give me some advice about being granted clemency? My crime was failure to appear i received a 10 year sentence no sh*t served 3 in prison , on parole till 2014. I could really use the money that i pay the state to pay for doctor bills and meds:) Just thought i would ask:) Thanks for your help. God bless and watch over us all.

First of all you should post threads like this on the other side. Second, you seem to forget that some of us on this board has had rough lives and don’t buy your story of receiving 10 years for only failing to appear in court. If that were the case half of the populating would be in prison. Anyone ever late paying a traffic ticket? I am sure there were a lot of untold things leading to the 10-year sentence for failure to appear in court and I am not trying to be rude but this is a Hepatitis Forum and I don’t care to hear about them on this side of the board.

Let me begin by saying you are not alone with hard times i when with treatment for 3 years. The 10 sentence is because i missed 16 weekends which is 16 counts of FTA they each carry  1 to 6 years. If you don't believe me i don't care i am like everyone else with Hep C in search of support and anyway to help myself.. You can go to www.tnanytime.com to felony offenders and see for your self my TDOC# 264584 public record, i have had 3 DUI's my first in 1991 and my last in 1999. I am offended by your attach on me those here that know of me have never been so rude or judgmental. I also suggest before you assume anything about anyone that you know about the law and what you are talking about, this is the first time someone has hurt my feelings here. That's a shame, hope others don't judge you like you just did me

Dude this isn't a legal forum, and it IS divided into a support forum and a medical question forum. You have posted this on the wrong side, and frankly it's a stretch that it even belongs on the other side either. I know a few people I love dearly with serious alcoholism problems, including multiple DWI's like yourself. But there are better (and more appropriate) places to seek legal advice for issues arising as a consequence of your alcoholism. This place is for liver disease and hepatitis of all sorts, that's why it's called "the hepatitis forum", and not the legal forum. No hard feelings towards you, just helping clear the air is all.

I never judged you.
I just know that people don’t get 10 years for only Failing to Appear. No need for me to comment any further because, I don’t want to take up room on this board for topics that don’t belong here and you proved my point for me.
I wish you the best, R. Glass

You seem to be harboring a grudge against the state of Tennessee for "not receiving treatment" for not being treated for hep c.  The only non-experimental medical treatment that can get rid of hep c is interferon and ribavirin.  Use of these dangerous drugs is not always indicated, especially in a usually slow moving disease and probably not in a penal setting unless it is badly needed and based on many other factors, such as projected release date.  Three years really is very little time in terms of hep c disease progression for the vast majority of people unless you are very late in the disease process.  I would not use your lack of treatment for three years as a reason to engage in bad behavior from your frustration.  The three years may not have been a big deal at all in terms of influencing your health.  I would let that experience go and move on and be grateful you have better options now.

not a lawyer, but do know If you have been clean sober and have a good work record and no further offenses you can request an addience with the jude who heard you case. they will in many cases reduce the parole provided it was not a violent crime and this was not a repeat offender situation.
Even if it was, but you have many years clean and sober, documented, they will make exceptions.
Go prepared to document your life changes, work, volteering, anything where you have turned a corner, and also armed with your financial needs and health issue documented.
Where I volunteer, we see women get reduced sentencing all the time, but it's dependant on whether you've really been working the porgram and made progress, otherwise they will want to keep and eye on you, no matter what.
