Ambien and ribaviran

Hello everyone .  Up until recently . My treatment has been bearable.  Last monday i was feeling overwhelmed and confused. I went to the Er and was admitted for three days. The ribaviran has been making my mind run wild.  I was also warned taking ambien could make you have bad dreams and may even make you parnoid. I feel better now but still have a little anxiety. All comments are welcome !

Those last weeks are the hardest.  I don't think I'll ever forget how much I couldn't stand it any longer!

But it will end and you will find your old self waiting on the other side!  It's been 4 months since I finished and I can't believe how much it's possible to do in one day (by the end of TX, checking my phone messages had become a major accomplishment for the day).

And I feel totally back on board with my kids.  During TX, I had trouble with 4th grade math--I couldn't even understand what it was that I couldn't understand.  It just seemed so confusing.  My poor kids seem to be fine now.  (Now I'm struggling with 5th grade math but at least I'm clear on what I'm confused about!)

My best wishes to all of you.

I know what you mean, I can almost withstand myself! I realized I've become so short tempered and I did suffer from insomnia, but that was only in the beginning of tx, after that I started sleeping fine. I always feel irritated and I cry for no reason but Im fighting it.. I'm fighting my way through.  You need to keep your hopes up, thats your first line of tx.

Sorry to hear about your bad trip on the meds. Go to your doc and talk it out. I do not have a problem with sleep but many on this board do. Some find ambien helpful, some find either Ativan or another benzodiazapine, which are minor tranquilizers, do the trick. Ambien is made to aid in sleep where ativan is made to relax you. I'm sure many who have walked thru this problem will respond. The other thing to consider is the possibility of either anxiety or depression. If you have never experienced either, the first time is hard to put the feeling to the name. At about week 13 I experienced what we referred to as an anxiety attack. I'd never had one before and I'll tell you what; I never want one again!!! It was a feeling that things were wrong or bad, a feeling of impending doom, that sort of thing. I nearly went to the ER that night but instead I hung tough till I got to see my doc the next day. It was messed up!!! They have rescue drugs for most of your tx sx... Keep the Faith, Keep killin' those critters!!!    Pauly

Hey Dale.  Glad to have helped you find the "right word" (tickertape)
Also, I loved your scenario about sneaking up behind your riba bottle! You hold em down and I'll beat em! HEHEHE!

Hi there,

Not seen you post for awhile.  I have to agree with that one. (tickertape).  Best description yet.  I am so glad for you only 1 more after tonight.  I have 6 more after tonight.  These have been the hardest weeks for me.  I am just so ready to be done with tx. I want my focus back and all the other normalities I was used to.  I am so tired of walking around like an empty shell, just no nothing, emotion, physical or mental feelings; JUST AN EMPTY SHELL!

Hope you have a great weekend.

I so totally agree.  My body and mind is so out of wack, I almost can't stand myself.  I just can not wait to finish.  My youngest son is suffering the most out of this.  He begged me about 3 or 4 weeks ago not to do my shot anymore.  I am loosing him in English and History academics.  I feel so guilty for this, beacause I am the educator in my house and I have not been there at all for the most part.  I am just ready to get back to my life as it was or will that ever be again.  Sometimes I wonder.  Don't mean to bail, I am just sooooooooooooooo   tired now.

You just described something that I have been attempting to describe for months. With one shot left after tonight "tickertape" is the word I have been struggling to find. I have had serious thought of sneaking up behind by bottle of riba and choking the lid right off of it and drowning its contents in the commode. Only reason I haven't is to keep from paying another copay:) I hope you (tickertape) have a good weekend. Grinding my teeth to the point of a headache has been another neat little thing I have gone through. Lots of luck. Dale

I know what you mean. Sometimes I feel like I have a tickertape running inside my head. I also noticed that issues are more magnified in my mind. I think, at times, you might also call it Ribarage. That's something that I'm noticing in myself more often and really working to control

I started Ambien about a month ago & the first 2 nights I had very weird dreams, but none since then.
Good luck!

Hi
I ended up having to go on Prozac for my anxiety and take ambien every night as I've developed insomnia from the Ribavirun.  So far it's worked fine for me.
