Anti HCV reactive
I am a blood doner at Karachi Pakistan. Previous day when i go to donate the platellets the Doner Screening Report shows the following:

Test:
"Hepatitis C Virus (Antibody)"

CutOff Value:
"1.00"

Quantitative Result:
"14.26"

Qualitative Result:
"Reactive"

Remarks
"Anti HCV reactive"


I cant understands this. is this serious or need some medication?

Please reply soon as posibble i am too worried.

It looks like you definitely tested positive for the Hepatitis C antibodies.  The quantitative result of 14.26 confirms you have been exposed to the virus. You will need to get another teat called a PCR to see if you have the active virus. If possible see a liver specialist (Hepatologist).

It can be serious but no need to worry now. Find out if you have the active virus then if you do then it can be treated with medication.
