Any Help with understanding what is going on

My husband was diagnoses in 2006 with end stage liver failure,due to hep c and cirrohosis.He has had 3 severe episodes of Gi bleeds from espophagugel varices and now is retaining so much fluid in his body he can barely move.He is on diuretics and other meds as per Mayo drs but seems to be getting worse daily,no matter what they try it only seems to work for 1-2 days and then we are back where we started

I am sorry to say it sounds like your husband has decompensated cirrhosis. He is experiencing the compications of advanced liver disease. His liver is unable to function properly any more and these are the signs of liver failure. Is he waiting for a liver transplant now?
