Wow, I have been gone for 2 weeks &  it looks like I have missed alot...Now I am back in the Real World again...So I wanted to make up for lost time & Say Congrats on Great Results to:

I am sorry for those I missed but there is alot of reading to do here...So Congrats To All of You!!

My question is for the last Month or so, just out of the Blue, My Nose starts dripping (Real attractive Huh?) It has no preference to when or where it will happen..Then today out of no where it started bleeding...My Eyes have become Red & glazed over with some slimmy stuff when I wake up also...And I have become alot more tired lately to....
In other words when I get home, about 30 minutes later I hear a knock at the door & its my a$$ trying to get in...I keep losing it somehow...Just when I thought the Fun was over, all these new things start to appear...

I want my money back for this Roller Coaster Ride...LOL

Dallas, I am at 13/26. My nose runs a lot. Especially over the past 4 weeks. So ya, it may be something we need to deal with on tx. I always need a kleenex close by.

My ass is dragging also. Someone in Michigan find it for me. Gotta keep my nose to the grindstone. 1/2 done. Praise God for getting me this far. I have had Friday, Saturday and Today off of work. I have not done anything but lay on the couch and watch TV. What a life, cannot wait to get this stuff over. If it doesn't work, so be it. I continue on full 180/1200 dosaging. I am going to enjoy whatever time God has for me on this earth afterward.  a smile shall return to my face world!!!!! Be ready.

Hi there........my nose drips and gets so stuffy and sometimes gooey yellow stuff and blood.  I go se the GI tomorrow.......I bought a humidifer and it does help.....the nose bleeds have stopped...but the drip, and stuffiness still plays havoc.....Other than some fatigue, i consider myself very lucky compared to some.....  I will do #9/48 tomorrow......

Sorry to horn in Dallas but we're out of threads and I wanted to get this in...
My last shot #52 will be Saturday, nurse said to stop the pills the same day, I didn't argue :-}. Anyway, Medco sent me way too many pills(copegus ribavirin), I'm only gonna need 4 out of the 4 week extension they sent me, this leaves me with about 175 extra. Seems like such a waste to just throw 'em away, if anybody wants them I'll be happy to ship them free of charge, my little contribution to some extra dragon killin'. Also I have 29 5 mg. Ambiens that I'm not going to use, tried 1 and decided they just weren't for me. If anyone is interested you can email me  akhepper at yahoo dotcom. Anybody that feels the need to remark about the illegality of this can save it, we've all heard it before.
I hope all my fellow heppers on tx are doing tolerably well, this sure has been a long journey on the outskirts of hell, glad my trip is just about over. I did my last shot Saturday morning then went to work for 10 hours welding, actually went surprisingly well, I knew I wouldn't make it if I did it Friday night like I usually do so I had to improvise.

Yes, I too have a drippy runny bloody nose. It's also cracked and red from dryness and too much blowing and wiping. Sorry to be so graphic but I figured everyone can take it after the "hot poops, foul smelling noses, etc" of the last week's threads.  Tomorrow is #10/48 for me and my nose has been this way since week #3 or 4. Needless to say, it's very attractive! I wrote about it plenty about a month or so ago. I'm told it's a fairly common sx.

AK, I would be delighted to take that Riba off your hands. I have to pay over $1,000 each month for my meds (and that's with insurance!) When I first began tx, the doc had me on 800 mg of copegasys, but my other doc at NIH said I should be on at least 1000 (1200 actually, but I'm too thin for that much). My doc agreed about 5 weeks into treatment, so now I'm short about a 5 week's worth of copeg to go along with my pegasys for the next 38 weeks. So that would be an unbelievable gift. How would you keep it cold in shipment? Did you keep the cooler and icepack it comes in? If not, I could send you mine. Congratulations on completing tx. I'm right behind you. Congrats to everyone who finished this past week.

I have a raw, sore throat (especially in the morning) and a runny nose.  My GP called it Dry Colorado Nose and prescribed Nasonex spray.  It seems the opposite of dry to me :-). The spray helps so I don't have to have kleenex available constantly (but it's still a good idea to carry a small pocket size pack).  I also get shooting pains in my ears that can happen anytime (sometimes not at all and other times, many occurances throughout the day).  I hate the ear pain the most because I don't know when to expect it; it really hurts and leaves me feeling even more weak and worn out.  I just did 19/24 and am very ready to be done with the meds.  I'm glad to have them and will be glad to be done with them! caruu

dallas...is that what all of us beginners have to look forward to after 32 weeks..tissues hanging out nose and visine?  Sounds exciting..can't wait haha  Seriously, I know everyone seems to experience the dryness and bleeding of the nose but your eyes..that kinda concerns me and have you told your dr about this?  I just know that it has to be miserable and you need something for it! Hang in there Dallas as you are getting very close!

AK-Hepper...Congratulations on completing 52 weeks!  Wow that is wonderful!!  Keep us posted on how you are feeling!

Chevygal...Yes I also have at times a scratchy throat or its like I have to clear it alot.  Hmmmmm...trying to think of a side that I haven't experienced yet??????  Ohhhh yeah..haven't had the pleasure yet of hair falling out but I'm sure that occassion will arise soon enough LOL

Dallas I have had the same problems with the nose bleeds, it happened in the first 5 months of tx, got better when my RBCs came up.  I also got nose sores, painful!, and not from pickin it either!  Just appeared, I would put vit E oil from the gelcaps in there, helped a lot.

I had nosebleeds right at the beginning of tx. I stopped using Flonase and started Procrit and they stopped. Don't know which was responsible. Not to be disgusting, but my nose these days is permanently stopped up. (Good to help stop snoring, but not much else.) When I blow, there is often blood, but no nosebleeds for a while. I also had the slimy eye stuff, but my doctor (regualar, not GI) said it was conjunctivitis and would go away after a couple of days. It did.

I've been in self-destructive relationships before, but the twins, Peg and CoPeg, take the cake. They SAY they are good for me, but so far they keep me up at night, ruin my appetite, make me tired and achy, and they're making me stupid as well. I'm old enough to walk out on most things that I know are bad for me, but I'm going to stick this one out. However, breaking up with Peg will be a treat. At 20/48, I am 42% done. Peg, your time will come!

About nose sores... I had one just above the bottom squishy cartilage in my nose; this sore came and went for about the first five months on tx.  Vitamin E oil was great when it was relatively calm; when it raged, I'd escalate:
Vitamin A&D ointment mixed w/zinc ointment; add a triple antibiotic ointment at its worst.  Use a Q-tip, not a finger to apply it.  A lot at bedtime, a bit lighter during the day.

One day, it just finally stopped.  That's the way so many of the sides are!
When I got desperate, I sometimes used this same tx around the corners of my eyes for little cuts and irritations...

I'm a month out of tx, and frankly, the nasty little day to day sides are receding in the fog.  It's hard to remember specifically how bad each one was at the time!

If you're having long bleeds, tell your doc; make sure they look at your platelet numbers (platelets are involved in clotting).  Check for anything you might be taking that might thin your blood, etc.
If it's not one thing, it's always another, with this tx.
