Appointment with Doctor

Hello everyone!  So I'm 2 weeks into TX and I had my doctor's appt. today and my blood work is starting to show significant lowering of my hemoglobin, white blood cells, and protein but he said that's entirely normal from taking the Interferon and that ultimately in a couple of more weeks those levels should start to plateau and even out from here forward (only if they drop into the red areas should we be concerned).  So the big day is going to be Friday 29th of February when I will find out if the TX is actually working for me or not!  So I'm praying to my higher power as well as crossing my fingers that there will a significant drop in my viral load.  That way it'll be working for me and I can remain on TX all the way 'till the end hoping for a SVR.  Nervous about the 29th, as otherwise I'll just have to wait until new stuff comes out in the future (hopefully that won't be the case here).  Thanks for letting me share!  Hope all of you are doing okay today and are feeling well considering.  I refilled my Attivan so that is a tremendous help.  The headaches tend to get better with plenty of sleep too so that's good.  I'm going to hang in there!

Glad your doing somewhat better and those headaches are going. I had them also 1st and 2nd week of tx.
I started with HGB of 14.7 and as of week 10 my  HGB was 12.1. I will be going this week for my 12th week labs. I wasnt told that they could plateau, I wasnt aware of that I thought was they start dropping they continue. Thanks for sharing that info.

Hang tough and hope for the best.

That's going to be into my 3rd week almost 4th week when I sit down and we determine if it is is working.  He mentioned that he wants to see my viral load drop by what they call a "log" which with my 14 million viral load would mean my a power of ten ie: 10 million or less (preferably less) Less would be by a "log"  Hope that helped!

from what i have read i think the first VL test is done "after" 4th shot. jmjm has said the best time to take the test is the day before the 5th shot. this way a recent interferon shot will not have any effect on the result. good luck
