How many are spreading the word to huggles (non hepc people)?
My friend, who had breast cancer 7 years ago, was complaining of joint pain, lethargy went to the doctor. She knows what I'm going through and asked her dr if he ever checked her for hep c. Uh, no was his answer. It isn't my story to share but turns out elevated liver tests and positive for hep c. They ran the test 3 times! Type 1a just under a million vl! All the bloodwork that was done in those cancer years! Every human being at risk or not should be tested.

I found out via postcard from kaiser asking me to come to a hep c class. I had a hip replacement 5 years earlier and they never bothered to tell me about the hep c. I found the smoking gun(lab test) in my records but as a biopsy confirmed grade 1 stage 1 a lawyer advised me that I had no damages. I suppose I'm grateful to have found out at all.

I had a similar experience, before surgery I was tested for everything, the blood work came back that I had "reacted" to Hep C and advised the doc to check the VL.    No one looked at my blood work, back then there was no law for lab to contact me. The surgery was done and I suffered for years after.   I did not discover this until 4 years later a lawyer told me that there is a 4 year limit in VA so nothing could be done.
Very frustrating, if I had known I would not have had the surgery as all those meds damaged my liver/body even more.  Back then I did not have cirrhosis yet and could have been a better candidate for SOC.  I hope this makes sense, I am on meds and at time get confused.
I think it is a great idea to try to        educate as many people as possible
