I just knew two people who had it, one a good girlfriend (neither of them have had hep) and then it did eventually go away, or got much, much better. But I know beans about it, I'd do a lot of research on it if I were you. Never really heard that it's a symptom of hep c. Sometimes we just get other ailments, regardless of our hep c. Just my take.

was a cause determined? An MRI done?   Often a tooth or jaw or sinus infection can bring on Bell's Palsy. A course of antibiotics as well as steroids is often given to eliminated infectious pressure and speed healing...still it takes a while for Bell's to settle and nerves to recover...the sooner you are put on the right drugs, the greater your chance of a full recovery.

More likely that it's just a coincidence.  Have a cold or flu recently?  Will take a few weeks to run it's course.  Make sure you take care of that eye that's affected.  Use a patch or moisturizing drops.  Carry a bib. Drinking through straw is fun.

The mastoid nerve (one on each side of the head) is involved, which branches off into the facial nerves controlling muscle movement, and a virus is suspected as the de novo factor. My first incidence was over 30 years ago, and was the most intense, losing 100% of the use of all facial nerves on one side, (of course) for 3 weeks. I have had 3 reoccurrences since, all much milder than the first.   My last occurrence was when I was on tx. Since steroids are contraindicated while on IFN therapy I did not treat the Bell's palsy and this is most likely a contributing factor to some permanent damage I sustained to some of my facial nerves . I have about 10% residual nerve loss function, though it's really only noticeable to me.

Once you have an occurrence you will most likely have another at some time. Its important to get treated as soon as you notice the slightest symptoms returning. The longer treatment is delayed, the greater the chance for permanent damage to occur.
