BRUCE / DRUMMER FOR THE BAND 'THE KNACK /OTHER POST

Hello All,

Just an FYI for all those who love music here.  The drummer of the Knack was put to rest yesterday.  For those of you not familiar, their biggest hit song was MY SHARONA.  I helped by best friend set up food preparations at his mothers home yesterday for after the funeral.

He died of NON Hodgkins.  He had 6 years remission from the first bout with this.  When it returned he chose not to tell anyone until close to the end.  He chose to go the natural way with homopathic therapy this time, it did nothing for him and the cancer just ate him away.

Now, before anyone wants to snap back at me about the last treatment he chose; let me begin with, I do believe in many home remedies and I know for a fact that many work.  But, there are just some diseases and stages of diseases that it just does not work on.  Non Hodgkins lymphoma is not one of them. I know it woke up alot of Vegan/Vegetarian's yesterday. Not that it will change their way of eating habits; but some of them will change their thought on how to cure certain diseases.

MAY BRUCE REST IN PEACE NOW.  He was a very generous and fun loving person.  Couldn't help but love his personality.

Thanks for your response to Bruce.  He was a wonderful guy. Never treated anyone like an outcast.  He was true to all people.

FORSEEGOOD:  What a small world indeed. He was way too young. And, as good as they get in a human being.  On the lighter side to this, and I know Bruce chuckled too.  When my girlfriend went to see him in the hospital, she leaned over touched his face and started to speak to him.  Well, honey when she did this, she set off every monitor he was hooked up to.  Doctors and Nurses came in from all directions asked what the hell was she doing and to get away from him.  His mother toss the dr/nurses out of the room and told my friend that she could just stay right where she was.   (We were told Bruce could hear every thing, just was not concious.) I know he was laughing in there when his mom did this.
My girlfriend and I figured one of the better things we could do for him, was to be sure his mother had nothing to do on the day of his funeral.  So, we set up her home with the catering of food.
hepcD:  Yes, I am from Louisiana.  Lafayette.  I have been in California for about 20Years.  I have a cousin that lives in Shreveport. My family still lives in Lafayette.

Thanks again to all.

Thanks for your well wishes.  Yes, it does get scary.  I have had many friends pass in the last year or so.  You need to be there for our elderly.  Bruce's mom lost her husband just 2 years ago, and she is not a spring chicken; she is up in age.  We helped as much as we could. Although, I do know she has neighbors that she gets together with every week to play cards.  I was glad to know that, it will help keep her going and not stop, and those friends will be sure that does not happen either.  That was comforting to know.
