Boceprevir naive trial (Sprint - 2)

Boceprevir naive trial (Sprint - 2)

Did anyone else participate in the Boceprevir naive trial begun in 2008?  I started Nov. 14, finished June 1.  If so, how have you done?  Cleared and, if so, at what week? Allowed to stop yet?   Any post TX PCR's yet?  CBC results?

Trial results are usually reported at meetings but that's a long time to wait for early results.  Please share your Sprint-2 experience.  Thanks.

Rocker, I know you are happy to be ending.

VC, there are 1,099 patients in Sprint-2.  You're the only other bocep naive I've seen post here.  Was that clear at 6-7 wks from start date?  That makes you eligible for 28 wks. if you're in Arm 2, so you must be in Arm 3, where response does not figure in at all.

It has the original powerpoint presentation for Sprint-1 results.  Really fascinating.  According to that, most trial patients stayed at HGB between 9.5 & 11.

I cleared before the bocep started, then added it and stayed crashed until I randomized out at 28 in Arm 2.  Looking at my records, I stayed at HGB of about 10.2 for last half of TX, kept crashed neuts, ended with platelets around 30,000 even though I stayed on reduced interferon for 2/3 of TX.  4 wk Followup PCR was UD.  The boceprevir was very rough on me too but looking forward to positive results.

Maybe we'll hear from some other Sprint-2 folks.

I started Sprint-2 on Nov. 24, 08. Went from 9,000,000 down to 226 in 4 weeks on the SOC lead in. Then stayed detectable at <25 through week 12, so I think I was probably in the placebo arm. I chose to discontinue at at week 12.

At followup, two weeks after discontinuing I was back up to 17,000,000.

Stormrider posted not too long ago with an update...he successfully cleared and finished Sprint 2.

What a tiny group we are so far. Hope Stormrider chimes in.

I had good insurance and a good private doc but went for the trial because I understood that I could cross over and add the PI after 28wks if I was in the placebo arm.  Weird taste clues you in if on the PI.  You must have been feeling really bad at 12 wks.  The PI's get results but they are even harder on your blood than SOC.
