Botox

So I was getting my botox injections yesterday morning when it occurred to me that perhaps I should tell my neurologist I have hep c.  For MIGRAINES, my insurance pays for it.  It's only a nice side effect that it also keeps the wrinkles off of my forehead, but anyway.  So, no more botox unless she gets a signed statement from my hepc doc (she means during my time on tx), that it won't interfere with my treatment.  Which I was going to do anyway, but it was kind of convenient that this appt happened to already be scheduled right before tx starts, although technically... botox stays in your system, but its really only supposed to be localized.  Yeah but I know.  Gotta check with the doc.

Well.  I'm sure I'll find out soon.  I faxed the doctor because I have to have the ok to continue to get it and obviously, if its not ok, I don't want to continue.  Its very helpful for me though in keeping my headaches from being as severe.  I get it in the neck, upper back and above my eyes where I have the most migraine pain.

However, botox is used by gastros for relaxing things in the bladder area (don't know much about that).  Botox was initially discovered a muscle paralytic / relaxant for people with severe spastic muscular disorders and the like.  (It can also be used for people who sweat extreme amounts) And... some of them noticed that "hey doc, umm... I have less wrinkles now, it's really cool."  Well, you KNOW the money people were interested in that one.  so... now its known more its cosmetic aps.

I've been getting botox injections since last year - maybe twice a year but not for migraines.  I googled "hep C and Botox" and have found nothing.  Is it ok with Hep c?  Yikes!  It is a poison.  Does anyone know?
