seems that treatment for this is very expensive. Something state medicaid wouldn't probably pay for? Right?
Great another sleepless night waiting on that confirmation test...
Hi,
Welcome to the forum.
Since you were on the transplant list then you must have advanced liver disease. This is why you are having the brusing and bleeding. You platelets are most likely low. You should try and get treated for the HCV ASAP. Since you don't have insurance you could apply with the drug companies to provide the meds for free. Best of luck
Am not on treatment. Have had Hep C since 1971. Due to transfusion from an accident. Wasn't actually diagnosed till 1995. I was on the list for liver transplant. My husband died last year from an aneurysm. Needless to say, I can't afford the medical insurance. Was taken off the list. Nice. So am being good to myself, and just doing the right things I hope. Lots of rest and good food. Don't drink or smoke. Not taking any meds either. Ride horses for a living. So still do that, somewhat.
Sorry, didn't mean to dump all of this on everyone. But am very glad to find this bb....
You don't say if you are on treatment or not? Are you taking any other medication that might thin your blood?
I think you should consult a doctor about the bruising and bleeding. That could have a cause unrelated to HCV. Bruising easily can be a symptom of certain cancers, and this should be investigated, especially if these symptoms are new.
Hi there,
And welcome to the discussion group. Do you have Hep C, and if so, have you had a biopsy recently? Bruising and frequent bleeding can sometimes be attributed to coagulopathy issues as a result of liver disease.
