CBC RESULTS

by LadyY, Apr 18, 2007 12:00AM
just had these faxed to me. i will just type the "out of range" results. Dr. said everything was "fine".

                                    Reference range
White Blood Cell Count 3.2 L     Thousand/ul  3.8-10.8
Absolute Neutrophils   1152 L    cells/ul    1500-7800

Anyone have an opinion or know what this means?

I also want to thank you all for your help...MikeSimon, Jim, Ladybug, Brad, Deb...I feel like I won an award... :)
Really...your support has meant so much. Knowing that I am not the only one going through this...helps alot.

Looks good with the exception of your neuts, they look really low...Mine were 1.3 when I went anemic........But with that in mind they also were 1.5 but my hemo was 12.5....So I believe their going to fluctuate....I'm now 13.3 HGB...NE# 2.05......

Hi Brad,
My red blood cell count is 4.57 w.reference range: Million/ul 3.80-5.10
and Hemoglobin is 14.6 w/ref. range g/dL 11.7-15.5
Down the page it states Neutrophils 36 (in range). It is the Abslute Neutrophils that are out of range....whatever that means.

I have never attempted reading lab reports before so I hope you understand what I'm typing. It gives me the impression that anemia (red blood cells?) is not an issue. White blood cells seem to be at issue, they're the one out of range. (??)

I am encouraged to know that I am responding...that's 4sure!

Hi Deb,
How are you doing? I've missed hearing from you. I enjoy your humor. that and your knowledge about this disease. I'm tellin' you..if it wasn't for you initially telling me I needed a PCR at the 4th week stage...there is no way I would have gotten it. Dr. actually said no.

Ps.You caught me..I just wanted to meet some nice friendly people and you heppers fit the bill. ;)

your results sound wonderful.  At week 8, my WBC was 2.0 (range 3.8-10.8) and absolute neutrophils  694 (range 1500-7800), and I am not on neupogen as I type (had another blood test last Fri to see if they'd changed-will see doctor Mon).
