I am waiting for an apt with the rheumie. I worry about this too. I keep having elevated iron and it makes my enzymes go up - also, I have an ulcer I need to have looked at, but these things make nsaids difficult for me.
At the same time, somebody needs to get the show on the road insofar as my medical folks are concerned because I came from having a negative ana pre-treatment to getting fairly severe RA early in treatment. I already have a hand deformity that I have to surgically fixed and I am now also having a problem with my right foot. The ulcer is post treatment also and could be issues, I think, with blood vessel damage due to the RA. This is all since last October when I started tx. I am UND post tx for about 3 1/2 months so far.
I take Celebrex and was in fact put on it by the h ead honcho at Shands at the university of Florida. I have RA and the mainstay drug for an RA flare is Prednisone. Since steroids are a big no no on treatment, Shands recommended that I go on Celebrex when I started this round of tx. I have Stage 3/4 liver damage. They must feel the benefits far outweigh the risks in my case.

my gi didnt even know the dose to celebrex so i doubt he knows if its good to my liver! im telling yall hes stupid and i need to find a new dr asap! lol yall are better knowlegdable then him
I was on it for a while. They found my liver damage and told me to get off of it.
I only took it about 3 months. It wasn't helping me anyway. If your liver is in good shape it might be ok to take it. Since you are in your 20s my guess would be your liver is in pretty good shape. Talk to your doctor about it. I'd make sure the doctor that is tx you knows you are taking it.
