C.R.P Lab Test

Could anyone tell what is this test and what does it mean for the liver ?
My doc asked me to do that lab test, my result is - 0.5

I recently have been tested with crp testing. my results are 13.5,14,12.5,and now15. i have fibromyalgia, polymyalgia rhematica, osteoarthritis severe in the knees. lower back pain buldging disk. I had hep c 8 years ago and did treatment for 1 1/2 years with no dectectable level in the end. i go next month for the 8th yr exam. do you think this crp test is a result of hep c coming back?
