Calling geno 3's

This is a continuation on the thread that Dominic started regarding Steatosis and Geno 3's. A lot of info on steatosis is at: http://www.medicinenet.com/fatty_liver/article.htm

The study that Dominic came up with stated that geno 3's had a chance of NASH (non-alcoholic steatohepitis) in 74 % of us. Wow. My new doc (a Hepotoligist) knew right off I was probably afflicted with both hep C and fatty liver disease. After reading the indicators, I agree with him. (My Infectious disease doc never put this together by the way.) My hep doc said I needed to lose weight before next tx due to suspected insulin resistance. So, now I know I have to deal with both HEP C and NASH. I am wondering how many 3a's out there have relapsed; AND have fatty liver disease? All of us? If so, what are the statistics of clearing after retreating? I wonder if this may be the peice of the puzzle that will lead to a successful SVR.

From what I understand, fatty liver can be cured? from successful treatment. But wonder how much it effects reaching SVR. Congratulations on clearing.
