Can WBC Count Ever Be Too High (Neupogen Induced)

by bunkywoo, Feb 07, 2003 12:00AM
When began Neupogen WBC was below 1.9 & Abs Neut .575. 1st shot was 4 weeks ago & it kicked up WBC to 6.6, Abs. Neut 5.0. Blood test Wednesday and WBC is up to 11 (which is the top of the normal range, 4-11), Abs Neut 9.5 (high) (7.0 is top of range). Doc is on vacation but another doc in office said to continue to take Neupogen. Question - after being concerned about low WBC for so long, is there any reason to be concerned should it get too high? I know it's a false high count(medicine induced), but would like to know for sure. Should I skip a shot? Have to talk to dr when he returns next week, but wondering if anyone else has experienced this.

Thanks guys!

Laurie
