Hep c does not sleep it is slowly attacking the liver every day.
Yes now would be an excellent time to treat. The new meds approved in the last few years are highly effective with most people reporting few side effects. Treatment could be as simple as 1 pill a day for 12 weeks and possibly just 8 weeks and he can be cured of hep c.
Has he been followed by a doctor? Has he been evaluated to make sure he does not have liver damage?
I was probably infected in 1978 and found out in 1990. I had a liver biopsy in 1993 fibrosis F1, another in 1998 Fibrosis F2, 2003 fibrosis F3, and in January 2008 fibrosis F4 AKA liver cirrhosis.
Anyway best of luck to you both. Get treated and get cured
Hep c doesn't have a dormant stage, you either have it or you don't, it is a slow moving disease but it is never dormant and yes now would be good time to treat.
Have a great day
