Can you combine different riba mfg. pills?

I Have 600 mg Ribasphere riba by 3 rivers pharm ,I take twice daily.I also have a bottle of copegus 200 mg by roche If I have to dose reduce. Is it okay to combine the two? Take 2 copegus in am and 600 in pm.They are both ribavirn, but any differences bx the 2 brands.

Makes no difference, doctor gave me some of his stash one time to go with what i had and his was generic......... No problem

You can check with the pharmacy but it's the same medication, has the same effect on HCV and works within the same time frame.  The big difference is the mg whereas the Ribasphere tab is 600 mg and the Copegus is 200 mg.  Binding ingredient plays no role in the effectiveness of the drug.

Sticking with one mfg may cut down on confusion.  At least you'll know how much you took if you have the same type pills in the pill box.

Check with your pharmacy to be sure.  I did combine them but not in the same way.  My first month I was on Copegus that I got from my nurse, then the 2nd month, the pharmacy sent me Ribasphere.  I called to be sure it was correct, and was told it was the same medication, just a different manufacturer.  Was also told that the difference from manufacturer to manufacturer, is the binding ingredient they use.

Same drug, different mfg.  They can be combined with no adverse effect.
