Changing Riba dosing times ?

Next week I will be finished with the incevik  and will no longer have to get up for a 6 am morning dosing.
Right now I am taking my morning riba at 6 am with my incevik,  and I take my evening riba at 6 pm.
When I finish the incevik, I was thinking of taking my morning riba about 8: 00  am and my evening riba around 6 pm.
Should I change the riba timing gradually, or just do it on the one day?
Are those hours apart ok?  Is it too long of a time between the 6 pm evening dose and the next morning dose at 8 am?
If you finished incevik, what time did you change your riba dosings to?   And did you make the change on just the one day?   Thanks.  Ginger

good job y'all......the riba is a sleep killer.  as long as you take your 2nd dose before 5 pm, with your DR's appvl, your sleep ought to improve.

i used to take at 6:30 am and 10:30pm.  up all nite.
i now take mine at 6:30 am and 2:30 pm.  along w my incivek.  going on wk 9.  works like a charm.  good luck!

You are the best and I have gotten to where I understand this stuff again, thanks so very very much.  I am so much better than last week this time however still trouble sleeping so I am going to take riba earlier, see if it helps, even 1/2 hour more sleep would be nice.  I have heard if you don't sleep you are kinda witchy lol
Take Care

Thank you so much for your comment, perhaps that is why I can't sleep now that I am off the incivek
Back when I did this before they just said to take twice a day.  For 12 weeks on incivek, I had not problem sleeping though I did have all other sx
Thanks for sharing

So glad that you are almost done with the incevik! When I finished the incevik I changed my riba time to  between 7 and 8 morning and same in the evening, because it does have such a long life I don't worry about a few minutes morning or evening. Hang in there..

Congrats on finishing on INC.    I just finished two weeks ago and I originally was taking my INC & Riba together 8 hours apart.   When I finished the INC, I moved the Riba to 12 hours apart for one week and discovered the stuff was keeping me up all night.    So with the help of our warriors and a call to my NP, I got the ok to move the riba back to 8am and 4pm.    So this week I will see how it works out.    I am thinking so far this will be good, at least it was today.    But always check with your GI or Doc first and let them know what you want to do and get the ok.    They chart the info too.    Good Luck :)

I was taking it with breakfast and dinner but found it kept me awake. My nurse said it is not time sensitive. Now I take it with breakfast and a late lunch.
Like others mentioned, due to its long half life, timing is not that important.

Congrats on being done with the Inc......... Changing times doesn't matter when it comes to the riba and 10 hours apart is just fine........... Hang in there

The terminal half-life of ribavirin following administration of a single oral dose of COPEGUS is about 120 to
170 hours. The total apparent clearance following administration of a single oral dose of COPEGUS is about
26 L/h. There is extensive accumulation of ribavirin after multiple dosing (twice daily) such that the Cmax at
steady state was four-fold higher than that of a single dose.
