My husband had a liver transplant in 2005 and his recent biopsy showed that he has cirrhosis :( He will be going for a high dose treatment of pegasysPegasys next week. We have 2 small children and am very worried about all of these. Does anyone who is in the same situation as my husband? Thank you for your time.
I've never had a transplant but I have cirrhosis.
I know there are some around that have had a transplant. I'm surprised that he received a transplant in 05 and has cirrhosis today. That is tuff news.
I'm sure this new treatment will work out for him.
Good Luck to both of you.
It is well known that donor livers fibrose much more quickly than the original liver.
Your husband's case is particlarly unfortunate.
It's frustrating that this was not picked up before the new liver became cirrhotic, but you are where you are and have to fight on.
There is one regularRegular insulin on this forum called Mike Simon who did treatment post transplant and eventually succeeded.
You might want to message him as he knows a lot about this.
