My husband's insurance is with Premera, and his co-pay for all 3 medications was about $85.00. Our insurance company required us to use Walgreen's Specialty Pharmacy.

Look into Patient Access Network Foundation. They are covering co-pays on all 3 meds for my husband ($566 per month). $9000 is craziness. You have to have insurance to qualify for help, and income less than 500% of Federal Poverty level. Our pharmacy actually referred us to them. Good luck-- there is help out there.
I love Teamsters, god bless them they told me the Incivek is $18,000 per month. My co pay is $20.for inciv $20 for Peg. & $10 for Riv. How do these drug co. come up with these prices it's crazy.
y co-pay is the same as pooh's. Slightly less now that Incivek has ended...
I really hope the drug company programs will help with that insane cost! Just for another reference point, I have Blue Shield of California and my co-pay for a 90-day supply is $75 for Pegasys, $75 for Incivek, and $10 for Ribavirin.
I noticed your other post in that other thread. I will put my answer here so your info is all in one place.
My insurance company is United Health. There are other people on the forum with Aetna. They treated. I don't know the details of co-pays for them, but I am sure they would have posted if the co-pays had been $9,000 a month.
One thing I do recall is that some people had a lot of trouble with Aetna, with approvals. But I don't know the details. I think Aetna is one of those ins. co. that try to pay as little as possible, but if you raise a stink and hound them and get your doc and pharmacy to hound them, they eventually come through and pay.
My monthly co-pay was $45 for Incivek, $5 for Ribavirin, and $20 for Pegasys. I could probably have asked the drug companies for assistance and I probably would have received it, but I did not know much at that time and my treating team was no help.
When I was first calling my ins. co. about coverage, I got about 10 different answers and none of them were the same, LOL. I thought I would end up paying about $40,000 out of pocket, but then I finally got someone who knew what she was talking about, and she told me that it was covered, just like my other meds were covered (which is very good coverage). I'm sure I gained a lot of grey hairs stressing about a co-pay of $40,000.
$9,000 is ridiculous. Either the ins. co. is wrong, or, if they are correct, then you should be able to get help from the drug companies (as noted in the posts above).
Best of luck.
I thought my co-pay was going to be that high as well but I ended up paying zero.
You should definitely contact the Incivek co-pay program. They covered 100% of my co-pay. The give you a virtual co-pay assistance card. It has a group number and a few other numbers that you give to your insurance company.
