Coffee Anyone???

Don't know if this is related to my Hep C but I have slowly lost my taste for coffee - I have always enjoyed several cups of coffee in the morning and now I just can't drink it - don't have a taste for it - this bothers me but it's probably a good thing that I don't crave it like I used to.  I was wondering if this might be caused by my Hep C - Can anybody else relate to this?  I know this really isn't a big deal but I'm still curious.

It didn't bother me at all.........I am a serious coffee addict it would appear, it would take a lot more than chemo to get me off of that drug!   ;)

since my tx started and has just ended ( 56 weeks ) i have lost my taste for coffee too. it was causing stomach problems at the beginning of tx along with side effects of meds i just gave it up.  and yes a bad taste helped me to quit as well.  now if i could have the same thing happen with cigs i could eliminate my last vice.

happy holidays to you.  :O)

Haven't noticed a decline in my taste for my morning cup of coffee, nope none at all I still look forward to the taste and for the "pick me up" I get out of it.   Something I've done differently in the past years is by switching to an organic coffee bean, like I have with all the rest that I buy.  I figure the less the toxic waste I eat or drink will make my liver a bit happier by using organic and keeping up the daily fluid intake and drinking mostly water.  The other thing I do differently with coffee is that I don't add any dairy, sugar or any type of sweetner since I have kinda lost my taste for those things and because their not that great for a diseased liver anyway.  Now I just add some unsweetened soy milk and love the taste!

I added some info about a great hepatologist onto your post from yesterday, hope this helps in your search to getting a good consult from a really good hep doc.   ;)

I haven't even started any testing yet - the only thing that I've done is taken a blood test and was given the results - now I'm trying to get into a Hepatologist to start the Liver testing - maybe the decline in coffee is just from my liver being sick.

when I started treatment they emphasized that any more than a couple cups of coffee was bad for you. Not sure if it is a medicine interaction or what.
