Combo and Anemia

My wife has Hepatitis C with advanced cirrhosis of liver, she has been on the combo therapy for about 3 months but is becoming severely anemic and her Doctor has taken her off the therapy. I have read that ribavirin can cause anemia but I haven’t seen anything about the interferon, could mono therapy be an option for my wife? Also could Maxamine be an alternative that she could take?
Finally can the combo therapy affect bone marrow because my wife’s doctor thinks that her bone marrow may have also been affected?
