If that was the case all the cops in the world would be infected.

yes you can get Hep C from eating donuts, but only if you are exposed to a blood to blood contact. you can also get it if you are eating one of those big chalupas from Taco Bell, under the same circumstances. but i think your ok if you eat at Wendys. Those burgers look scrumdillyicious. but you have to avoid blood to blood contact.

"Hi to all everyone.. I would like to ask if I can get hepatiis while eating a donuts?"

Only if they are cream donuts :)

Seriously, use the internet to get educated before joining a forum to ask a question like this!

Good luck

You bought donuts full of contaminated blood, and then your family injected the HCV positive blood from the donuts into their bloodstream ? Why would they do that ?

Technically, you can get Hepatitis A from food (whether it is prepared in a restaurant or at home) if the food handler has Hep A and does not wash his/her hands after touching feces (when they use the toilet).

http://hepatitis.about.com/od/hepatitisa/a/HAVrestaurants.htm

"You can get hepatitis A from restaurant food, but it's not because the food is from a restaurant. You can be exposed to hepatitis A from food prepared anywhere (your home, a friend's home, and, yes, even a restaurant) if the person preparing the food is infected with the hepatitis A virus.

This is because hepatitis A is caused by a virus that spreads from person to person when we don't wash our hands. It's a fecal-oral disease which means that the virus enters your body through the mouth and is excreted in the feces. Infected people who don't wash their hands well after using the restroom can easily pass the virus along to whatever they touch. If they prepare or serve food, they could expose anyone that eats the food."

Most restaurants have very strict hand washing protocols and they are posted all over the place. Your risk of contracting Hep from a restaurant or food service is very low (but possible). I think it is a pretty rare occurance. Stories like that are all over the newspaper, nationwide.

No! Donuts are not a good medium for transmitting HepC. Something like a scone with a high yeast index could do so, but it would still be unlikely. I avoid donuts for many other reasons, BTW.

And I didn't post my UND so someone like this could have a thread?!
When I get to SVR I will announce it on a new thread.  It could not be any more irritating than this question.  I have family members who have asked similar irritating questions, Dad is that you?  :) lol

For people experiencing what this illness can do to you questions like this are silly, pointless and annoying ! If you need to be silly I suggest you go elsewhere and do it.

Hey, I don't think the question was posted as a joke. So when you say "go get educated before you come into a forum like this", what do you think BoyKablam is trying to do??  It's a question.  Deserves an answer and maybe some jokes (which are pretty funny), but stop telling people to leave.  They have no idea the question is silly.  We don't want to scare people from asking questions to get educated!

That is fine if you think the question is legitimate. Then why didn't you answer their question? I'll tell you why, because it is so ridiculous there is no answer!
I see you took the time to offer an opinion but unfortunately not help the person.

Please don't tell me how to offer my opinion.  My opinion is that the post is ridiculous and bogus and that person deserves to be chased out of forum. It is a waste of everyone's time when morons post things like this. To many other people that really need help.

Hear, hear, copyman!

The subject line of this thread says it all...  "Contaminated".

Yup.  I'm "CONTAMINATED".  And it's not my job to educate every idjit who thinks I can CONTAMINATE them by touching a doughnut.  Dammit.

I just. Don't. Care.  I have enough to worry about without having to worry about educating those who clearly have enough computer savvy to find this message board.

google.com <--- way easier to use this than to register an account here, post this kind of stoopid question on a message board, then sit and wait for someone who is CONTAMINATED to respond.

When I see a bizarre question like this as a brand new member's first and only post, it screams "troll".  If they came back with further explanation or additional questions, I'd think otherwise.

But to answer the OP's question, donuts are ok, but beware of chocolate eclairs.

personally, i love these dopey questions. at 42 of 48 weeks, the riba rage is in hi gear and the dog told me that if i keep yelling at him, he's gonna leave. answering these questions is a release for me; as long as i don't go too far. so i say keep the dopey questions coming, cuz i only have 6 weeks left and i'm not out of material yet.

oh and by the way, were those krispy kream or drunkin donuts? cuz you know that makes a huge difference. the krispy kream donuts are real sticky and the contamination from HCV can cling to the oh-so-sweet creamy icing that is on the donut.

keep those dopey questions coming BoyKaboom.

"So when you say "go get educated before you come into a forum like this", what do you think BoyKablam is trying to do??

Knowledge is power and to suggest to someone that they need to educate themselves on how not to contract an infectious disease is not in any way out of line, in fact it is doing them a favor so in the future they will have the info needed to prevent the possibility of contracting hep c.

Don't be hatin'!!  I believe, no matter legit or not, that this was a great question. The question was answered with the Hep A answer. The thread took a turn and I must tell you, I cried hilarious tears for over 5 minutes. The funniest thing I have read in my hundreds of hours on the net w Hep C. I needed this relief and question. Sometimes we all must lighten up and see things for what they are. Agreed, jokes traditionally are not appropriate on this forum, yet I am so grateful for this "medicine" and info.
On a personal note, I think it can only be transmitted if you mix a jelly and a boston creme. :)))). Here's to Dunkin!!!

I understand that jelly to jelly contact is what you really want to avoid.  :p
