Could I have Hep C?

I started dating a new guy 5 months ago. I noticed he had something that looked like a rash/pimples on his skin but they weren't raised...just red/pink dots on parts of his skin. For the past few months I've become chronically tired and covered in bruises. And in the past month I've started to notice the same dots on my skin. After googling my problems, Hepatitis C came up and seems to be related to my symptoms. Tiredness and bruising are related to a lot of things....it's just the skin dots that are worrying me; I don't think it's coincidence that we both now have them. What's going on?

I’m not a Dr. but doubt this is HCV related.
This is a shot in the dark but a possibility.

Personally I think you're barking up the wrong tree.  I am guessing that your bf is HepC positive altho you omitted that part.  You wouldn't get infected from him unless you shot dope with him and you surely wouldn't see anything at all in the way of bumps, red or pink dots or anything, not in 5 months and not from HepC.  I suggest you get tested if you are concerned about it.

BTW, I know alot of ppl with HepC and I've never seen any red dots ever.  good luck

Nah sounds like herpes or some form of STD.  HCV is not in bodily fluids just blood so unless you exchange blood during sex it's impossible to contract.

but...is there no correlation between the same red/pinks spots on me and my boyfriend?

Just to add to what Susie  said ..you would also not have the symptoms of chronic tiredness and brusing from having HCV for only 5 months.

Excessive briuising  and red spots can be related to low platletts in the blood however and it would be a good idea to have a full blood workup done to see whats going on.

just read about petechia; definitely not that. when i first noticed the markings on his skin i told him he should have it checked out...he said he mentioned it to a doctor but nothing came up. and so far, reading about hep c, it goes undiagnosed in the first stages because it is hard to detect. (also, i am not even close to being a hypochondriac...i know there is something going on right now...i just don't have the money to go to a doctor unless i know there is something actually wrong. what a repetitive cycle)

I assume you are talking about petechia. That comes with late stage disease. You couldn't have that after 5 months. Did you ask your bf if he has hep C. A dermatologist can diagnose your problem if in fact you have one.
