Coverage for Xifaxan

Having trouble locating insurance that has Xifaxan on their formulary.  If you are on Xifaxan, what insurance do you have that covers it?  Anyone have information on any patient help programs available from Salix? I got info on a program from my hepatologist that is a $100 discount, but this drug is over $1300/month, so not a big help if you are paying out of pocket.

Hi.  I contact the drug website first on name brand drugs that the insurance company doesn't cover.  You would be surprised that most have programs for patient assistance with cost.

"xifanxan550.com" has patient drug assistance program, drug discount cards and copayment assistance.  I always go to the drug website first.  I have gotten huge drug discounts on brand name drugs not covered by my insurance.  check it out.

Best to you

That sounds really good, I wonder if I could go to Canada.  Can anyone go to get a prescription filled?  I have a couple that have tripled in cost since last year.
Thank you for the information
My husband needs Advair and it went from $35 to $100 a month, there is no alternative for it so it is frustrating

I was on it and got approved thru Humana on a tier 3 drug. If I had not I had a backup plan. Take your Rx to Canada. It is extremely affordable. I came off while on tx and have not restarted as my memory seems the same. I hope that is a good sign as I will know in January whether I have gained SVR.

Aetna covers it on their tier plan. Co-pay is 100.00 for 1400.00 script which is the highest tier they have. This is a Medicare Part D post retirement plan.
