Cryo symptoms anybody have them

Just want to find out the type of cryo symptoms others may have. And, are you a cryo II or III?  Do you have a positive Rheumatoid factor, also?  And, what is your genotype?  Do you have more side effects from the treatment due to the cryo?  Do you think once the treatment is over and you are a svr do you think the cryo will be gone too?  I have read a lot of the research but found a lot of contradictions.  So, thought I better check with the experts.  This forum is awesome.  I read the threads every day (unless I'm sick) I don't reply much because I sure don't have the answers.  But, once I become experienced, I, too, will help others. Thank you so much for all your help and most of all the support.  This stuff can really get you down.  The waiting drives me the craziest.  I thought, I was getting the hang of this virtue called patience when I started gardening but obviously not!

Thanks again, Dianne

It is always a good idea to be ck'd for it, if you send it to the right lab lol I'm sure thats why she checks everyone with Hep because of the high percentage of people with HCV has it. It has to do with cold (cryo) because most of the symptoms appear in cooler temp. The toes turning blue or dark, pain in walking like RA, edema, Some come and go like the rash, mine started with itching, like a mosquito bite except in larger area and soon had red dots on stomach or thighs, sometimes turning into a big blotch that would go away after a few days like a bruise. It can also cause numbness in the extemities. You can have all the symptoms or very few, but it will get worse if not treated. It is an autoimmune disease that causes your own antibodies to form a web trapping the virus in the small vessels, clogging them causing them to burst (dots) or inflames the vessels (vasculitis) the itch. There is several kinds of cryo but the HCV caused is the one to look at. Other types are caused by Kidney disease and others and can be fatal,do not confuse those with this type.

I have it also, had all the classic symptoms, toes turning colors, numbness, pain in the feet, edema, rash in lower extremities, and since starting tx had no edema, pain gone, still some numbness in left foot on the side, and no more rash, so tx has definitly helped mine, still have toes turning a little darker in cooler weather, but nothing like it was. Doc said its caused by a certain antibody that traps the virus in the small vessels (capillaries) and the blockages is what causes the symptoms, so getting rid of the virus causes the body not to release more of the antibody. There is several strains of cyro some may be fatal, but these strains are linked to kidney and other diseases not to be confused with the cyro caused by HCV which is not.

mine did also, once the virus starts to lessen so does the antibodies sent out by the body. So glad to be rid of that ****, walking like a 90 y/o, wearing jeans in the heat so the rash won't show. Still got a little numbness on left side of one foot, but after all the other stuff that isn't anything.

the cryo test I had was done wrong and i made the doctor aware of this, though she should never have sent me to Lab corp for the test. It must be done at an onsite lab.

She told me she didn't think I had it though. but I am going to find where I can get it done properly to play it safe.

Originally I thought she thought I had it and thats why she tested me, but she said no, she test everyone,,,well now she knows why all her tests come back negative,,wrong lab.

i had little bleed spots size of pin on my abdomen  and top inner thigh and few on chest. i though that looked like it could be a sign, broken capillries. she doesn't think its cryo though,The bleeds have faded and no more new ones, thank God.

well i'm looking for a new doctor as of yesterday, so i will see what he says and ask for the test again,

i have low body temp, but i don;t know if that is related to cryo. i know low temperture affect the cryo, but I don't know if cryo causes low body temp.(louisiana woman,my cold feet?)

I have it and my temperature has been around 96 - 97 before I even started tx. My sed levels are off the chart as well. It's from the hep c not the treatment, which of course makes one hurt worse. I'm Geno 1A but that also doesn't matter. But there are a lot of people on the forum with it. Levels no longer matter to me. I'm still going to fight the dragon and hope once I win the cryo will get better. If not that's just another part of life as I know it that I have to live with. I'm sorry you have to suffer also. But your not suffering alone there are many here also.
